Excess local temperature can affect material and dimensional stability and may damage seals, cages or grease. Whether heating is permitted, the temperature limit and probe position must follow the bearing construction and manufacturer guidance.
An induction heater should provide temperature monitoring and demagnetization. Prepare insulated gloves, a clean work area and positioning tools before heating so the bearing can be mounted promptly without repeated heating cycles.
